Advisory

AltLibre takes a small amount of advisory work alongside the research. It tends to be the same problem the papers are about: an organisation that has realised its data answers to a jurisdiction it did not choose, and wants to understand the exposure before deciding what to do about it.

The work

• Jurisdiction and dependency reviews. Which systems hold consequential data, whose law reaches them, and what would happen if access were withdrawn or compelled.
• Second opinions. A read on a decision already in progress: a migration, a renewal, a sovereignty claim in a supplier response.
• Procurement and exit strategy. How to write requirements you can hold a supplier to, and how you would leave before the day you have to.
• Board and executive briefings. The dependency argument put to people who have to make the decision rather than implement it.

Independence

AltLibre takes no commissions, referral fees or sponsorship from any vendor named in its research, and advisory clients do not influence what is published. The research is not for sale, and nothing on this site is placed. Where a tool is recommended, it is because it does the job.

How it starts

An email. There is no form on this site and no tracking on any page. Write to info@altlibre.com with the situation and you will get a plain answer about whether this is work AltLibre can usefully do, including when it is not.
